葉山町・語学ボランティア・ホストタウンとしての活動(その７)

A Picture Frame Project - British Sailing Team

Joined a project to present ‘in appreciation of local support for the team.’ The BST has visited Hayama as a host town since 2017 for the Tokyo Olympics.

For the project, Yumi - one of our team support members already worked with Alex (Olympic Operations Officer), and #topartkamakura frame shop. They have proceeded the frame material and mount colour. I shared the further details and an engraved nameplate design to be put inside the frame.

However, it turned out that the nameplate did not fit our time schedule💦 so I had to find another shop. Fortunately, @maruni_gaku accepted our urgent order with great quality. When they arrived, we were relieved ☺️.

The wrapping papers were prepared at @pp_hayama - one of our favourite local shop. The chef Henrietta happily accepted to wrap them up nicely while making yummy meals. We were quietly working like 007 to give a surprise especially to the local support members seeing each other during the team stay. Especially I felt Alex's passion to pay attention to the details for the recipients. It was my pleasure to be able to assist in this way.

A total of 28 gifts were delivered to @hayama_official, Daido Life Recreation Center, Hayama Marina, Hayama Newport Marina, Team Support Members, and the people from Hayama Town Hall involved for over the past few years. Looking forward to seeing how they would be decorated in each place.

東京オリンピックの為、ホストタウンの葉山町に来日していた英国セーリングチームの、お礼の品となる記念写真額装制作プロジェクトに携わらせて頂きました。チームサポートメンバーの一人である斎藤由美さんが、チーム担当者であるAlexと、鎌倉にある額装屋・Top Artさんとやりとりし、額縁や台紙の素材や色を進めて下さり、私は額縁内に入れる文字プレートのデザインのやりとりやその後の詳細を共有させていただきました。

しかし途中段階で、文字プレートは時間が間に合わないことが判明💦急遽見つけたマルニ額縁画材店さんで外注しました。急ぎのオーダーにもすぐに対応して下さり、クオリティも◎。届いた際は☺️。包装紙は@pp_hayamaで揃え、シェフのHenriettaはご飯を作る合間に、ラッピング作業を引き受けてくれました。滞在中、毎日のようにサポートメンバーと顔を合わせていたAlexは、このプレゼントはサプライズにしたいと言っていたため、007のようにひっそりと準備を進めていました。受け取った方々に喜んでもらえるよう、1つ1つ丁寧に進めるAlexの想いを感じました。

記念写真は計28点。５年に渡って関わりのあった葉山町役場、大同生命保養所、葉山マリーナ、葉山新港、役場の方々や、サポートメンバーに無事贈呈されました。みんなの想いがこもった写真フレーム、これからそれぞれの場所でどのように飾られていくのかを見るのが楽しみです😊
